TRAINING PROGRAMMES

The OPEN Foundation is developing comprehensive training and certification programmes in psychedelic therapy, facilitation, and integration for mental and public health professionals in the Netherlands and Europe who want to safely and effectively integrate psychedelics into their practice.

MASTER CLASS: THERAPEUTIC APPLICATIONS OF PSYCHEDELICS IN MENTAL HEALTHCARE

This master class is intended for BIG-registered clinical practitioners (psychiatrists, clinical and healthcare psychologists, psychotherapists). You will receive additional training from experts in the Netherlands in the therapeutic application of psychedelics in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Under the chairmanship of Prof. Eric Vermetten and Joost Breeksema, Dutch experts from across the field will embark with you on a two-day refresher course detailing developments in the application of psychedelics in the treatment of mental disorders. This course discusses, among other things: the current state of affairs in the application of psilocybin, ketamine, and MDMA, indication areas, thoughts about mechanisms of action, the role of mystical and spiritual experiences, risks, contraindications, and legal frameworks in the Netherlands and abroad. Our last master class was broadcast from the Endegeest Castle in the Netherlands, and we're working on bringing back this successful event due to popular demand. PSYCHEDELICS IN PSYCHIATRY AND PSYCHOTHERAPY

There is a growing body of evidence suggesting that psychedelics can be used safely and effectively to treat mental disorders, including depression, PTSD, and substance use disorders. During this one-day symposium, leading psychiatrists, psychotherapists, neuroscientists, and psychopharmacologists in the field of psychedelic-assisted therapies will share the latest scientific developments and insights into the therapeutic use of psychedelics, and discuss the future of treatment and research with MDMA, psilocybin, LSD and other compounds.

PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH PSYCHEDELICS

This workshop is designed for current and future psychedelic-assisted therapists and includes information about the theory, the mechanisms, and the practical aspects. The workshop will provide a short outline of the development of the use of psychedelics in psychotherapy, with a focus on psychological and neurophysiological foundations. Facilitators: Janis Phelps, PhD, the founder and director of the psychedelic therapists education program at the California Institute for Integral Studies (CIIS) and Torsten Passie, MD, professor of psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Hannover Medical School in Germany.
