OPEN Foundation is very proud to introduce ADEPT—the Advanced Education in Psychedelic Therapy program.
We will host two sessions for you to ask your questions and learn more about the program: 28 January and 18 February at 8PM CET.
Launching in May, 2025, this two-year training programme for future psychedelic-assisted therapists is grounded in OPEN’s firm commitment to ethics, integrity, clinical care, scientific expertise, and hands-on experience in psychedelic-assisted therapy. Psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) is a new treatment paradigm that integrates the transformative potential of psychedelics within a structured psychotherapeutic approach.
Unlike traditional talk therapy or medication prescription, a central element in PAT are the profound and often unpredictable experiences induced by psychedelics. Managing this process safely and beneficially requires highly skilled therapists, carefully designed therapeutic frameworks, and sound ethical safeguards. The potentially destabilising nature of psychedelic experiences, combined with heightened suggestibility in patients, necessitates an extra careful approach. Most importantly, it needs therapists who thoroughly understand these complexities and can support patients in navigating them. Providing PAT requires more than just enthusiasm— it is through careful preparation, high standards, and a deeply ingrained sense of ethical responsibility that these currently inaccessible treatments can be integrated into mental healthcare as safely, responsibly, and ethically as possible.
