Human Resources officer
The OPEN Foundation is looking for a human resources (HR) officer!
OPEN is a small but growing organisation that plays an independent and central role in the rapidly developing field of psychedelics. To support our growth and strengthen our internal structure, we are looking for a part-time HR Officer (approximately 12 hours per week). In this role, based in the Netherlands, you will help maintain clear HR processes, ensure smooth administration, and contribute to a supportive and inclusive work culture. This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys combining hands-on HR tasks with supporting people in a mission-driven, international non-profit environment.
Task & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and implement OPEN’s HR and personnel policies.
- Support the Executive and Operational Directors in improving organisational structure and processes.
- Handle HR administration: contracts, onboarding/offboarding, and performance tracking.
- Oversee salary administration, pensions, and employee benefits in coordination with finance and external providers.
- Manage recruitment and contracting of staff and freelancers.
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related questions and staff support.
- Keep personnel records accurate and compliant with GDPR and Dutch labour law.
- Update the organisation’s personnel manual (CAO) annually.
- Promote and sustain a positive, healthy, inclusive, and supportive work culture.
You are a reliable and organised HR professional based in the Netherlands who enjoys creating structure and supporting people. You work accurately, communicate clearly, and handle confidential information with care. You are comfortable taking initiative and can work independently while staying connected to the team. Experience with Dutch labour law, payroll, and HR administration is important, and you are fluent in both Dutch and English. Experience in a non-profit or international environment is a plus. You (obviously) have a strong affinity with scientific research and independence within the field of psychedelics.
Terms of Employment:
- Appointment of 8–12 hours per week (to be discussed)
- Flexible working hours (remote working is possible)
- Own personnel handbook (employment conditions based on the CAO Social Welfare & Care)
- Start date: asap
- Salary (based on 40 hours): €3,420 – €4,085
