Music plays an active role within psychedelic experiences across ritual, ceremonial, and therapeutic settings. This session, part of our Music events series, explores this interplay through historical and contemporary lenses, highlighting music’s pivotal role in indigenous rituals, Syncretic Churches like the Santo Daime, and modern psychedelic-assisted therapy. We will explore the evidence on how music affects psychedelic experiences and how psychedelics influence music perception. The session will conclude with a Q&A, aiming to foster a dialogue on enhancing our understanding of music’s therapeutic potential in these settings.
