LEAD EXPERIENTIAL WORKSHOP FACILITATOR

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

The Lead Experiential Facilitator (LEF) will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of ADEPT’s experiential practicums. This key role involves supporting participants during psychedelic-assisted sessions, ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive environment – in line with the best practices taught in ADEPT. The LEF will develop practicum agendas and content, lead a team of co-facilitators, and ensure alignment with ADEPT’s learning objectives. As the LEF, you will maintain constant and direct communication with the Educational Lead, Operational Manager, core faculty, supervisors, and other relevant stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

PRE-PRACTICUM PLANNING

– Design, develop, and review comprehensive practicum agendas, incorporating substance-assisted therapy, team-building exercises, and preparation and integration sessions.

– Collaborate with ADEPT leadership and experiential facilitators to tailor content to meet participants’ specific needs.

– Jointly develop medical, emergency, and therapeutic protocols to ensure participant safety and support.

– Coordinate logistics and ensure strict compliance with safety protocols and local regulations.

– Organize and lead team meetings with the entire facilitation team to align objectives and processes.

– Conduct preparatory sessions (group and individual) with ADEPT participants to ensure readiness and understanding.

FACILITATION

– Lead experiential sessions with a strong therapeutic presence, providing guidance and stability throughout.

– Support participants during preparation, the experiential session itself, and post-session integration, fostering a safe and supportive environment.

– Supervise and direct co-facilitators during sessions as needed, ensuring smooth and effective facilitation.

– Oversee participants in their role as therapist trainees, guiding them as they support fellow trainees in the program.

– Ensure alignment among all facilitators regarding goals, roles, and participant support plans to maintain a cohesive and effective team approach.

POST-PRACTICUM

– Conduct evaluations to assess the impact of experiential sessions, measuring outcomes and participant progress.

– Debrief with the facilitation team, offering detailed, honest, and constructive feedback to facilitators and participants.

– Write detailed reports, highlighting insights, outcomes, and recommendations for future practicums.

– Design future experiential practicums based on insights and experiences gathered, ensuring continual refinement and alignment with program objectives.

– Support participants during online integration sessions, providing support and assistance as they process and apply their experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

– Advanced degree in clinical psychology, psychiatry, and/or psychotherapy.

– Extensive experience facilitating psychedelic-assisted practicums, retreats, or therapy sessions..

– Proven ability to lead in high-pressure and unpredictable environments, with excellent conflict-resolution skills.

– Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience engaging effectively across diverse groups.

– Demonstrated leadership with a track record of managing teams and guiding collaborative efforts.

– Proficiency in group support, fostering group development over time while maintaining continuity and upholding appropriate boundaries.

– Expertise in somatic and contemplative practices, emotional holding, and trauma-informed care to support participants effectively.

PREFERRED SKILLS

– Leadership in team coordination, fostering a collaborative and reflective practicum environment.

– Strong conflict-resolution skills, particularly in high-pressure or challenging situations.

– Excellent communication skills, ensuring inclusivity and providing support across diverse groups.

CONTACT-BASED ROLE

This is a contract position focused on in-person experiential practicums, as well as online preparation and integration sessions.

Key responsibilities include:

– Contributing to the development of practicum content.

– Attending ADEPT leadership meetings to align on goals and objectives.

– Leading facilitation team (de)briefings to ensure effective communication and continuous improvement.

– Contributing to the recruitment of facilitation team members.

– Providing constructive feedback on the professional functioning of facilitation team members to support their growth and effectiveness.

TIME COMMITMENT

The Lead Experiential Facilitator will support three experiential practicums per cohort, which include:

– Two experiential practicums, each lasting 5 days.

– One experiential practicum, lasting 3 days.

In addition to the practicum days, facilitators are expected to allocate additional time for pre-practicum preparation, coordination, and post-practicum debriefing with the ADEPT team. This role requires full presence and engagement during all scheduled experiential sessions, as well as a modest time commitment for preparation and follow-up activities.

COMPENSATION

– EUR 3,500 for a 5-day experiential practicum.

– EUR 2,100 for a 3-day experiential practicum.

TIMELINE FOR RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING

Start date: First experiential January 2026.

Interviews: Scheduled to begin June 2025.

Training period: Begins August 2025 (mandatory participation in ADEPT training modules and preparation sessions).

EXPECTED HOURS

Experiential practicums last 3 to 5 full days, with additional hours for preparation and debriefing.

WORK AUTHORIZATION

Must be eligible to work in the Netherlands.
