Join us for an engaging online presentation and Q&A session as we explore the relationship between psychedelics and neuroplasticity. This session will be led by Manesh Girn, a postdoctoral neuroscientist from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), who specialises in investigating the brain mechanisms behind the psychedelic experience and the transformative effects of psychedelic therapy on mental health.
During the event, we will delve into the concept of neuroplasticity and its role in brain function, examining how psychedelics are believed to enhance brain connectivity and potentially “rewire” neural pathways. We will also explore the latest neuroscientific theories surrounding the mechanisms of action of psychedelics, including how these substances may influence critical periods in brain development. Furthermore, the presentation will discuss how understanding neuroplasticity and these critical windows can better equip healthcare professionals to support patients in both research and practice.
