With the increasing prominence of Ketamine therapy, there is a growing curiosity about its future trajectory. This panel will examine the dynamic landscape of ketamine treatment and its potential future trajectories within mental health care.  

Within the discussion, our esteemed speakers aim to meticulously analyze and present diverse paradigms surrounding the utilization of Ketamine, including current advantages and limitations. 

A focal point of our discussion will be the integration of ketamine within psychiatric frameworks, highlighting its indispensable role as an adjunctive tool in facilitating psychotherapeutic interventions tailored to address a diverse spectrum of mental health conditions.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Prof. Morgan completed her undergraduate degree and Ph.D at University College London (UCL). After competing her Ph.D Prof. Morgan worked at University of Melbourne as a visiting research fellow, returning to UCL for a fellowship and then Lectureship. She joined University of Exeter as a Senior Lecturer in 2013 and was given a Chair in Psychopharmacology in 2015.

Prof. Morgan also holds an Honorary Readership at University College London. Prof. Morgan is academic lead for both Exeter Translational Addiction Partnership (ETAP) and Ketamine for Reduction of Alcoholic Relapse (KARE).

Filip is the co-founder of the psychedelic clinic Psyon, where – as a psychiatrist, psychotherapist and medical director – he mainly practices psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP). He also works as a neuroscientist at the Czech National Institute of Mental Health, participating in psychedelic research (EEG correlates and phenomenology of psychedelic experiences), and as an assistant lecturer at the 3rd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University (Psychiatric Clinic). He graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University (2012) and proceeded to complete a PhD programme in Neuroscience at the 3rd Faculty of Medicine (2017). Will Barone, Psy.D is a Clinical Psychologist and Researcher focused on the development and implementation of psychedelic-assisted treatments. He has led multiple qualitative research studies in the psychedelic sciences, including investigations into MDMA-Assisted Therapy as a treatment for PTSD and anxiety associated with terminal illness. 

Currently Dr. Barone has a clinical practice that utilizes Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, where he has developed a model that emphasizes intensive psychotherapy treatment to aid in long-term benefits. He is continuing to develop qualitative research programs for various clinical trials of MDMA, Psilocybin, and Ketamine-Assisted Therapies.
