This insightful discussion will explore the foundations and future of combining Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a well-established trauma therapy, with psychedelic medicine. By examining the intersection of these two treatments, we’ll consider how they can be combined to enhance safety, deepen healing, and support long-term symptom resolution though the process of memory reconsolidation.

Together, we will explore how EMDR techniques may support psychedelic preparation, enhance emotional processing, stabilize individuals affected by adverse experiences, and promote psychedelic integration outcomes through well-structured, trauma-responsive treatment protocols.

Key discussion points include:
  • The mechanisms of psychedelics, EMDR, and memory reconsolidation
  • Ethical and therapeutic considerations in combining these approaches
  • Practical applications and emerging research
This discussion offers a thought-provoking look into the future of scaleable psychedelic treatments and the synergistic benefits of combining EMDR therapy with psychedelic medicine.
