ABOUT THE SPEAKERs

Tomislav Majic, Psychiatrist, psychotherapist for psychodynamic therapy and DBT and researcher, consultant psychiatrist, founder of Ambulanz Psychedelische Substanzen, co-lead of Psychedelic Substances Research Group

Since 2006, I have been working in psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Psychiatric University Hospital of Charité at St. Hedwig Hospital. For the past 5-6 years, I have been leading a general psychiatric ward and an outpatient clinic and day hospital for dual diagnoses that operates with an accepting and harm reduction approach. I have long been interested in severe mental illnesses like psychosis, substance-use disorder and Cluster-B personality disorders. Specifically, I have focused on the intersection between mental health disorders and the use of psychoactive substances, particularly classical psychedelics. I am particularly curious about how psychedelics can have dual effects—acting as promising treatments for mental disorders and personal development, while also potentially contributing to the onset of mental health issues and adversely affecting existing conditions. I have been researcher and study therapist in a large trial (EPIsoDE) investigating psilocybin in patients with treatment-resistant depression. Since 2018, we have been offering outpatient treatment through the Outpatient Clinic for Psychedelic Substances for individuals who have experienced mental health disorders following the use of psychedelics.

Katrina Olive, MSN-Ed, BSN. Psychedelic Wellness & Harm Reduction Consultant

Katrina Olive (she/her), better known as Kat, identifies as queer woman of color from Los Angeles, California. She is a trauma-informed Health & Wellness Educator and Psychedelic Harm Reduction Consultant with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nurse Education. She comes with a strong background in acute care, hospital administration, ketamine treatment centers, and event health & safety services at public and private settings around the world. She currently works with Journey Clinical on their Clinical Operations team supporting their prescribing clinicians, member therapists, and their patients engaging in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.

As a survivor of abuse and trauma as a child and as a healthcare provider, Kat endeavors to embrace personal growth and resilience amidst adversity and challenge. She channels these experiences into fueling her commitment to helping fellow survivors embody a sense of hope and healing through heartfelt care, safe spaces, and thoughtful education.

After over a decade of providing care at the hospital bedside, Kat has transitioned away from the traditional forms of clinical nursing, but remains dedicated to her passion. She currently serves as a trauma-informed educator, offers CPR & Narcan trainings, facilitates psychedelic integration to private clients and support groups, reviews content for psychedelic educational platforms, and continues to provide psychedelic harm reduction and emotional support services to a variety of clientele.

In any role, Kat is known to bring a gracious, enthusiastic attitude alongside her prowess as a caregiver, her affinity for emotional intelligence, and a lifetime of meaningful experiences to support her clients, colleagues, and community.

Timmy Davis, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and Founder of the Psychedelic Experience Clinic

Timmy Davis is the founder of The Psychedelic Experience Clinic, director of Psychedelic Policy and Regulation at the Centre for Evidence Based Drug Policy, policy director at the Psilocybin Access Rights (PAR) campaign and a trainee at the Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. He is a contributing member of Drug Science’s Medical Psychedelics Working Group and provides psychological support on the psilocybin for treatment resistant depression trials at Kings College London. Timmy also leads teams of volunteers in welfare and harm reduction spaces such as Boom Festival in Portugal and many music festivals in the UK. He graduated from Birkbeck, University of London with an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies and with a BA Hons in Philosophy and Religion from the university of Kent, where he was president of the psychedelic society for three years. Timmy co-authored a chapter entitled The Feminine Enshadowed: the Role of Psychedelics in Deconstructing the Gender Binary in the book Psychedelic Mysteries of the Feminine (2019) and The Medicinal Use of Psilocybin: Reducing Restrictions on Research and Treatment (2020). He also authored THOU ART NOT THAT – Towards a Psychoanalytic Understanding of the Bad Trip (2022) and New, Strange, Odd and Weird Perceptions – A Lacanian Approach to Psychedelic Experience (2020).
