As the conversation around psychedelics gains momentum, there’s still consistent work going on beneath the surface. Regulations are lagging behind, leaving those who work outside the law to navigate a complex and risky landscape. Join us for ‘Above-Ground Regulations – Underground Realities’, an intimate and eye-opening online event organized in collaboration with Maastricht Psychedelic Society, where we’ll hear from two voices working at the forefront of this space.

We’re excited to welcome a therapist who has worked underground with psychedelics, Frederike Meckel, offering healing in ways that legal systems don’t currently allow, and Theo Giubilei, the founder of PsychedeliCare, an initiative dedicated to supporting people through their psychedelic experiences with integration services, harm reduction, and advocacy.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERs

Friederike Meckel Fischer, MD trained as a medical doctor and a medical psychotherapist in Germany. From 1989-1991 she trained as a Holotropic Breathwork© facilitator with Prof. Stanislav Grof in the US. From 1992-1995 she trained to be a psycholytic therapist. She also underwent training as a couple’s therapist, a family therapist and a family-constellation-worker. After receiving her license for psychotherapy in 1997, she worked in her own private (psychotherapeutic) practice providing conventional psychotherapy, Holotropic Breathwork©-groups and systemic-family-constellation work. For nearly ten years she offered substance-supported therapy, working underground.

Théo Giubilei holds a Master’s degree in European politics and public affairs and has gained professional experience in Brussels, where he developed a strong understanding of the European legislative process and the European Citizens’ Initiative tool. Passionate about the potential of psychedelics to support mental wellbeing, he founded the PsychedeliCare Initiative to help the people in need in the EU.
